Affiliate Marketing Intern

September 2019 • New Carrollton, MD

What I liked

THe internship is very well structured around growth and improvement tailored to the intern. My manager has been amazing and my whole team has embraced me with open arms. As I am the only intern on my team, its been really great to be fully integrated into the team and have an impact on everyday work.

What I wish was different

I wish it was closer to Baltimore! The drive is pretty long in traffic, but it has been well worth it. NOthing to complain about within the job, it's been great.

Advice

I would definitely be yourself during the application process and be honest about your experience and your goals during the internship. Ask a lot of good questions about the team and the company as well. I was not very experienced at all within the marketing field but I told them that up front and I told them steps I was taking to be ready for the internship and I think that helped me secure the role.

Special Projects Intern

January - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I loved the company culture and the growth opportunities available. Everyone was willing to help out, not just the people in your immediate team. There were various ways for interns to network with people in other departments through company events and weekly beer Fridays. I really enjoyed interning here because of the fact that everyone wanted you to succeed and helped guide you without micromanaging you either. There was a lot of freedom to how I approached the projects I was given and I was able to learn a lot.

What I wish was different

I would suggest offering more intern workshops for interns during the school semesters, such as in spring or fall, rather than offering them in the summer.

Advice

I'd advice others to be upfront about what interests you and what you hope to gain out of this internship because then there's an opportunity for you to create your own project (not necessarily within your team, it allows you to also collaborate with other teams) because they always welcome new ideas. Essentially, just be bold and be yourself!

Business Operations Intern

June - August 2018 • Lanham, MD

What I liked

Great culture, hands on experience, felt like I was actually part of the team, could see how my work impacted the company

What I wish was different

Occasionally would have very little to do and had to make my own work. Would have liked a few more long term projects to fall back on.

Advice

Everyone is very friendly so take time to ask your manager to introduce you to other department heads you may be interested in.

Brand Marketing Intern

August - December 2017 • Lanham, MD

What I liked

I enjoyed the casual, young, laid back environment. Additionally, I learned a lot. I felt like the internship was a good mix of me coming in qualified and helpful, but I left with even more knowledge of behind the scenes marketing.

What I wish was different

It's a little far from campus, so metroing can get expensive.
