Student Volunteers at CMS

Looking for an exciting internship in the health policy field? Want to get some hands-on experience that can help prepare you for a career in public health after graduation? The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is seeking interns in our newly created Division of New Technology, within the Center for Medicare. The interns will have the opportunity to work on a variety of topics related to new technology products, including evaluating the costs and clinical aspects of applications.

The interns will help evaluate at least one application, and will provide summaries of their review along with recommendations for final disposition based on the review relative to applicable statute, regulations and policies. Ideally, interested candidates will have an introduction to data analytics and/or policy analysis from classes they’ve taken. Candidates should be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to adapt to changing policies on short notice.

Interested students must be U.S citizens and enrolled at least half-time in a degree/certificate seeking program.

If this sounds like a fit for you, please apply TODAY! A simple email with your resume and unofficial transcript may be sent to StudentVolunteers@cms.hhs.gov, with a subject line of “Division of New Technology Internship” no later than December 1, 2020. The internship promises to be a fun, yet challenging opportunity!
