Public Health Associate

The Bizzell Group, one of the fastest-growing companies in America, is seeking a Public Health Associate to provide research, communications, and coordination expertise for a portfolio of public health projects.
Requirements
  • Provide communication and liaison support for various working groups comprised of geographically-dispersed researchers and/or Federal agencies or public health organizations by scheduling and hosting teleconferences and webinars, drafting and distributing meeting minutes, and supporting product development 
  • Manage searchable databases to track progress and activities 
  • Act as a liaison with funding agencies and grantees
  • Contribute to the development of reports, manuscripts, presentations, and other publications for dissemination to consumer and scientific audiences
  • Write content for webpages or fact sheets for consumer audiences; provide scientific expertise to designing messaging behind graphics or infographics
  • Manage scientific planning for workshops and conferences in close collaboration with internal staff and clients
  • Conduct literature reviews to understand the state-of-the-science on various behavioral research topics 
  • Conduct basic statistical analyses, interpret findings, and present results in figures and tables
  • Ensure quality control and protection of Federal data and communication products
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent writing skills for various audiences
  • Ability to perform basic descriptive analyses in Excel; advanced statistical analyses a plus
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Communications, or a related field is required
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience conducting public health or social science communications and/or research
  • The ideal candidate will have an interest in tobacco control and public health research
  • Past experience in tobacco control and/or cancer prevention preferred
  • Government contracting experience preferred
  • Experience using statistical software programs (e.g., SAS) a plus
  • Familiarity with research grantsmanship process a plus
