Opioid Response Project Coordinator

Position Summary

Minnesota is facing an opioid epidemic, and local organizations need your help to quickly and thoughtfully address this crisis.

As an Opioid Response Project Coordinator, you will help organizations expand their capacity to serve more people who have been affected by substance use disorder. You will work with a team of professionals on a variety of projects related to supporting recovery; examples include evaluating/creating internal programs that serve people in recovery, building external partner networks, creating training programs, or developing recovery workforce pipelines.

We are currently recruiting for the 2020-21 program year with opportunities beginning in September 2020. Your commitment to Recovery Corps will be 40 hours per week.  

This is an AmeriCorps member position with Minnesota Recovery Corps. Although the earnings are modest, the rewards are great! You’ll join an amazing cohort of Project Coordinators from all backgrounds and experiences.

What it Takes

Great members come from all walks of life. No matter your experience and background, the most important qualification is a desire to serve your community. That said, you also need to meet the following minimum qualifications by the time you begin your service:

   •Are dependable and have a history of good attendance
   •Able to understand and follow instructions
   •Can set a pace and maintain a work schedule of 40 hours per week, which includes organizing a workload of multiple projects
   •Experience with and/or understanding of the nonprofit sector or office environments
   •Direct or indirect experience with substance use disorders and strong connection to and understanding of the recovery process
   •Experience with intermediate to advanced computer skills (like Microsoft Office Suite, database and software use, email, and internet) 
   •Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with English fluency
   •18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
   •A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States*
   •Have served three or fewer terms with AmeriCorps State or National Program
   •Agree to and successfully complete a background check

*Applicants who have received deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not eligible to serve as AmeriCorps members at this time.
