Research Analyst

Job Summary:
Westat has an immediate opening for a research analyst to join our Public Health and Epidemiology Practice to work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers focused on prevention research and other related areas of public health. 

Job Responsibilities:
• Evaluate NIH funding and published literature to classify research based on an established taxonomy protocol.
• Perform quality control for the classification of funding based on the established taxonomy protocol.
• Manage a taxonomy classification database, conducting routine analytics.
• Conduct portfolio analyses and perform coding.
• Develop training materials and facilitate the delivery of training on established taxonomy protocols.
• Collaborate with the project team on the development of reports, promotional materials, and other deliverables.


Basic Qualifications: 
• A master’s degree in public health is required.


 Experience with SAS, R and/or MODIS are preferred. The successful candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to take initiative, and able to work on a breadth of activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills are essential.
