Youth Behavioral Health Specialist I/II-Temporary

Position: Youth Behavioral Health Specialist I/II (Temporary)
Pay Grade: 1-2
Salary: $13.00-$17.00 per hour
(Starting salary depends on education and experience)
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Youth Behavioral Health Specialist (YBHS) position is part of a team that oversees quarantined and isolated youth within identified units on our campuses. Armed with training, supplies, and personal protective equipment specialists will work amongst a team of peers, leaders, and nursing to facilitate daily activities, ensure health and safety, and manage behaviors. This YBHS is also responsible for proper behavior management of youth through the use of behavior management techniques, medication administration and other medical support, reviewing/writing of all required documentation, and maintaining a sanitized living environment for youth. Responsible for teaching, guiding, and assisting the client in daily life skills as appropriate for age. Provides 24-hour awake supervision. This temporary position has the opportunity to transition from temporary employment to a part-time or full-time position.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum requirements for this position is a high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience working with, caring for, or supporting children. Preferred requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in social services, child development, criminal justice or Nursing Assistant Certification and 2 years’ experience. Ability to perform a full range of physical motions to include, lifting/caring up to 50lbs, standing, walking sitting for prolong periods, ability to use senses of sight and hearing to supervise clients and must possess or be willing to attain a CPR, First Aid, and Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Training within first 2-weeks of hire. Must pass a background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver’s license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
