Health Information Analyst/Editor

In this role, you will provide comprehensive analytic, writing, and editing services of health, financial, clinical, operational, and strategic information from a variety of sources. A key element of this role is ensuring that the information is presented in a style and format that is appropriate for the intended audience and "customer ready." You will review and, when appropriate, recommend changes in scope, format, methods of production, and dissemination. You will research, query, and extract data from a variety of sources and summarize that data in decision support and information documents. You will assist in establishing corporate standards for style, terminology, and sequencing of information.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree with five years’ experience working with healthcare information, quality management, performance management, public reporting and statistics required.

• Successful candidates must have demonstrable experience in authoring and editing for a variety of audiences, tailoring the format, content, and presentation of the material appropriately for a given audience

• Project management experience preferred.

• Working knowledge of data systems preferred.

• Works as liaison between IT and clinical disciplines to ensure accurate communication about requested information and that the most effective and efficient data collection efforts are achieved.

• Experience with translating business partner needs into accurate and robust management reports.

• Working knowledge of the design, construction and use of complex relational databases required.

• Proficient in MS Excel, Access and Visual Basic macros.

• Proficient with languages such as SQL and Oracle for creating queries

• Proficiency managing electronic medical records.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required.

• Good written and verbal communication. Strong experience in understanding business partner needs, documenting partner needs, documenting detailed report requirements, and the generation of reporting test cases.

• Ability to express complex analytical and technical information to senior management or to audiences with clinical training.
