Position Summary:
The Department of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering (CSEE) at University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for the positions of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a team environment and in a diverse community of students and faculty and share our vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, mentor graduate students, advise students at all levels and maintain an active research program. Interdisciplinary work is encouraged. The successful candidate for an Associate Professor or Full Professor position should have a record of scholarly accomplishments, teaching experience and a sustained externally funded research program. CSEE desires applicants who can contribute to the Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EWRE) research area. Desirable areas of research expertise include environmental engineering and/or water resources engineering but are not limited to, one or more of the following: environmental microbiology in engineering and natural systems; meta-omics techniques and analyses; stormwater treatment; bioenergy and sustainability; and ecohydraulics.

At the undergraduate level, CSEE offers ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering. At the graduate level, we offer Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering, and a Master’s degree in Engineering Science with a focus on Engineering Sustainability.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a doctorate in civil engineering, environmental engineering or a closely related field. PhD must be conferred prior to appointment.
