Student Communications Assistant II - Centers & Institutes


Position Specific Summary: The Student Communications Assistant II contributes to GFLEC's marketing strategy and is responsible for the day-to-day marketing efforts. They manage Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, website accounts, the e-newsletter, and mass communications. Writes and edits content & investigates conferences that would be beneficial for GFLEC to attend or be on the program.

Standard Position Description: The student will provide assistance in management and planning for print, web, social media, and/or other digital content. Tasks may include: reviewing existing departmental websites and suggest edits, creating and executing a marketing plan, website maintenance, updating and/or developing key materials and opportunities used to promoting departmental expertise and practices, and assisting in the management of social media channels, including writing and posting original content. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.

Required Qualifications: Some applicable educational, technical, or professional experience required, some training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:• Master’s in Marketing or related field is underway • Professional marketing experience • Social Sprout, Wordpress, PPT, Word, Excel • Superb written & verbal communication skills, fluent English • Ability to work with limited supervision • Careful attention to detail • Takes initiative
