Student Lab Assistant [Science] I - Biomedical Engineering


Position Specific Summary: The Student Lab Tech will maintain laboratory safety documentation, provide lab supervision for 3-4 hours/night for 3 or 4 nights/week, remind students of safety rules - alert faculty if student(s) don't comply with safety rules, and perform general lab cleaning. Working for the Department of Biomedical Engineering

Standard Position Description: The student will perform basic laboratory duties and maintain supplies and stocks/inventory. Tasks may include: assisting in specific projects being completed in the lab; preparing experiments, cleaning equipment, assisting students. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Required Qualifications: This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided (Students working in an instructional capacity should be very familiar with the subject area in which they are working).

Preferred Qualifications: Must have completed jr. level chemistry or physics lab course or has at least one year of experience in a chemistry or physics research lab and completed GW general lab safety training experience with hand held power tools
