FWS Student Access Assistant I - Safety & Security

Position Specific Summary: The working job title for this position is Student Access Monitor at GWPD. Please note, for employment verification the standard position title is the official title of record. Student Access Monitors (SAM) are responsible for access control to various facilities on campus. SAMs are stationed at lobbies and entrances of buildings and ensure all community members have proper identification and access when entering buildings. SAMs serve as eyes and ears for GWPD and immediately report incidents to GWPD Dispatch. Duties Include: Ability to work at least 10 hours/week during the semester. Knowledge and familiarity with GW campus resources (Safety and Security, Student Affairs, Title IX, etc.). Superior communications skills. Customer service experience preferred.

Standard Position Description: The student will serve as an access monitor for GW departments, spaces, or buildings.
Tasks may include: monitoring entry and exit to University facilities, verify identification and access of community members into buildings, and ensure safety and security of assigned area by identifying safety hazards, policy violations, and security concerns and immediately reporting such to GWPD.
Special projects or duties may be assigned related to specific office needs.

Required Qualifications: This is an entry level position, little to no experience required, all training will be provided.
