Summer Interns


EnCompass LLC is currently seeking multiple interns to support our various teams for the Summer of 2019. We are looking for interns who are highly motivated, personable, proactive and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. The interns who successfully obtain a position at EnCompass should expect to gain a measure of exposure to international development in our various practice areas, including (but not limited to): gender, monitoring and evaluation, global health, adult learning and education, food security and agriculture, sustainability, human rights, and governance.

The internships are primarily based at EnCompass headquarters, in Rockville, MD with one or two internships expected to be based at GHPOD II in Crystal City, VA.   
 
Experience and Skills:

  • Applicants should be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or be a recent graduate thereof. Preferred majors include: international development, public health, instructional design, political science, business, economics, communications, organizational development, social sciences, or other related fields.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Past customer service or office experience, a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Proficient familiarity with Office 365 and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Anticipated Outcomes:

  • Hands-on experience in various ongoing projects.
  • Opportunity to work in a team environment with individuals passionate about their roles
  • Insight into working at a professional services firm and learning about what a career in consulting might entail
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Work at assigned office (Rockville HQ or GHPOD Crystal City) from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all scheduled weekdays
  • Work schedule is subject to change based on needs and events hosted by EnCompass
  • Interns will be notified ahead of time when required to attend at a different location.
  • Accomplish work tasks as assigned by Lead Mentor
  • Achieve agreed upon goals
  • Complete all internship deliverables
  • Independently initiate activities with guidance of Work Buddy if needed
  • Respond to communications from supervisor and colleagues in a timely manner
  • Check-in with Work Buddy and Lead Mentor with any questions or concerns
