Health Education Intern
Role Summary:
The health education internship at IQ Solutions is an opportunity to acquaint and engage students with our company and the work we do. Interns are generally engaged in undergraduate or graduate study in health communications, public health, health information technology, digital or social media, or business operations fields. Incumbents participate in a supportive role by providing analytical and technical assistance in one of our many disciplines.
What Will You Be Engaged In Day-To-Day?
- Reviewing regulatory documentation.
- Tracking and analyzing key federal and state health care legislative initiatives and policy developments.
- Assisting in the development of toolkits and materials about asthma, tobacco cessation, and other health topics for advocates, including factsheets, sample letters, PowerPoint presentations and social media.
- Assisting in conducting background research on state laws, policies and regulations concerning lung health, tobacco control, and other related topics.
- Providing innovative communication solutions to a range of federal government clients.
- Researching and tracking media outreach.
- Monitoring social media.
- Assisting in the development of fact sheets, infographics, and other promotional materials.
- Participating in team meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications Will Help You Succeed?
- B.S./B.A. or M.S./M.A. in communications, marketing, public health or a related field of study preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Google Documents.
- Focused, self-directed, good people skills, good writer.
- Knowledge of major social media platforms.
- Ability to manage numerous projects, requests, and responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
