ATH-Program Lead in China

Job Description:

For Summer 2018, Ivy Camps USA is looking to hire qualified Educational Program Leads to work at one of our incredible summer camps located in Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin, China. An international job with ICU is challenging, yet immensely rewarding. We empower our Program Leads with a wide range of responsibilities, requiring a specialized skill set that centers on leadership, academic achievement, and great interpersonal skills. Available positions range from teaching Chinese students ages 5 to 13 English, Science, Art and Performance to coaching a variety of Sports and other exciting outdoor activities (No Chinese language skills or formal teaching experience required). Program Leads are paired with local, Chinese-fluent teaching assistants to work together in teams of four and draw upon each other’s individual expertise and backgrounds to form a strong vision for the curriculum and athletic activities for the groups of young students they will be guiding during each session.

Compensation:

This opportunity compensates Program Leads for their participation with the following:
  • $2,800 - $3,000 USD of pay for 6 to 7 weeks of work (pay and duration of time spent in China are based on which role Program Leads assume)
  • A 10-year Visa to China
  • Provided room and board for the entire duration of the program
  • Fun, organized cultural activities to encourage exploration beyond campgrounds
One of Ivy Camps USA’s other chief focuses is professional development for our Program Leads. We will be hosting workshops to help our young professionals build outstanding resumes, learn how to network and prepare for interviews, and define the early stages of their careers.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead and instruct classroom and/or outdoor activities for children ages 5-13
  • Manage and collaborate with a team of 3 local teaching assistants
  • Oversee program presentations for parents
  • Maintain discipline and safety
  • Take daily inventory and complete preparatory work
  • Camp set up and take down
  • Contribute to staff and program meetings
  • Produce program reports
  • Lead and attend professional development seminars
  • Take on additional leadership roles within your area of interest
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Great verbal communication skills
  • Native English speaking proficiency 
  • At least one year of college education
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and outgoing personality
  • Flexible and adaptable within a startup atmosphere
